We operate two (2) adjoining properties - Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel and Best Western Parkway Hotel, conveniently located at Highway 7 and Leslie Street in Richmond Hill. We are currently recruiting for an experienced hotel sales manager. This position has responsibility for developing new and existing accounts within the Corporate segment in order to achieve maximum revenue for the property. This position reports directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing, and provides assistance and guidance to the Sales Coordinators and guests, while maintaining a calm and professional environment at all times.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Evaluate and qualify new and existing clients
- create and source new business opportunities through cold calls and/or direct inquiries
- Create new prospects within existing accounts
- Conduct rate negotiations with senior buyers within general guidelines
- Perform site inspections and presentations for prospective clients
- Maintain awareness of the competition as well as knowledge of area attractions/features
- Build marketshare and increase REVPAR
- Maintain database of client/sales activities
- Detail monthly strategies and targeted initiatives
- Conduct competitive price shopping to ensure hotel positioning within defined market segments
- Participate in industry related associations or committees, and in house entertainment opportunities
- Attend trade/consumer shows
- Create and implement mailings and e-marketing programs
- Conduct client meetings and follow-up
- Other duties as may be assigned
Job Requirements:
- Must hold valid/current legal authorization to work in Canada
- Must have a minimum of 1-2 years proven sales experience in a full service Hotel environment, preferably in the corporate segment
- Must be able to achieve agreed upon sales targets
- Must have a post secondary degree/diploma in hotel/hospitality management from a recognized institution
- Must have strong presentation, negotiation and closing skills
- Must have networking skills
- Must have inside and outside sales experience, along with ability to upsell
- Must be customer service oriented
- Must have exceptional time management skills, with ability to prioritize
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have the ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests and employees
- Must have the ability to read and write English
- Must have strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Must be detail oriented with ability to multi-task
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with mínimal supervision
- Must be flexible with shift availability (occasional evenings and Saturdays)
- Must have valid driver’s license and use of an automobile as necessary
- Must be available for an in-person interview
