The IOOF has recently embarked on the largest capital project in the IOOF’s history, with the launch of a $1.2 million redevelopment campaign to expand the facility to a 226-bed long-term care home. This transformative revitalization will create 64 new long-term care beds and 66 upgraded beds, modern spaces, updated equipment, private rooms, and increased square footage.

As our facility embarks upon this exciting expansion, our team is growing too We are adding RNs, RPNs, and PSWs.

**Cognitive Support Lead-Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)**:
The Cognitive Support Lead - Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) participates in the NSM Specialized Geriatric Services model within the LTC Home, enhancing services for residents with behaviours/expressions associated with complex and challenging mental health, dementia, substance use and/or other neurological conditions. The Cognitive Support Lead-RPN is responsible for delivering a person-centered and evidence based best practice approach which supports the individual resident experiencing cognitive impairments. The Cognitive Support Lead-RPN leads education and knowledge transfer to all staff related to expression/behaviour management.

**Qualifications**:

- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing, or Registered Nursing Diploma from a recognized College, and currently registered as an RPN in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Prior experience with clients in long term care and/or other Mental Health facilities.
- Training, or the ability to obtain training in P.I.E.C.E.S., Gentle Persuasive Approach, U-First, Montessori, Non     Crisis Intervention etc.
- Certificate in Gerontology considered an asset.
- Basic principles of providing education to adults considered an asset.
- Initiates assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of behavioural interventions for residents within the interdisciplinary team.
