**What This Position is About**:
Creates and implements strategies to strengthen Fleming College and the President’s profile through media relations, and various other communications vehicles and channels. Helps to foster a positive image of Fleming College through effective management of the College’s media narrative. Works with the College’s Senior Management Team to provide counsel on media relations and coordinates media activities.
Drafts various forms of communications on behalf of the President’s Office and Marketing and Communications team, and prepares the President for meetings and events with external guests and principal stakeholders.
Develops and implements internal communication plans for the President’s Office and processes to facilitate communication of college-wide issues. Conducts thorough research to support communications and briefings from the President, the Marketing and Communications team, and other departments.
Plans and executes special media events and announcements for the President’s Office and the College and ensures alignment with the College’s strategic direction. Through partnering and teamwork coordinates and/or assists with the management of large-scale events on behalf of the President’s Office, Marketing and Communications team, and College.
**Work Schedules**:
This position has been designated as hybrid/partially remote and is expected on-site 50% of the time.

**What We Are Looking For**:
Completion of a three year diploma/degree in Public Relations, Journalism, communications or related program along with a minimum of three years of work experience:
- In in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment which requires the ability to work under pressure in order to deal with multiple conflicting priorities.
- In media / government relations, marketing and corporate communications, social media or other digital content writing and production
- Researching and analyzing complex information and using oral and written communication skills and critical thinking skills.
