**About the role**
- As a Chief Risk Officer, you will be responsible in maturing the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program practice to enhance CDIC's overall resiliency by reducing performance variability, improving resource deployment, and increasing positive outcomes while reducing negative surprises.
- The role can be performed out of our Toronto or Ottawa offices, following a hybrid model approach.

- Act as a strategic advisor to the President and CEO.
- Modernize CDIC’s ERM framework and supporting practices, by developing and spearheading innovative, right-sized approaches for best-in-class risk management.
- Promote and nurture an effective risk culture across the organization including fostering awareness and accountability for risk management and acting as a change agent in support of risk-informed innovation.
- Oversee the analysis and consolidated risk information from across and beyond CDIC to provide strategic risk insights and reports to management and the Board in support of decision-making, strategy and oversight.
- Partner with CDIC’s testing and simulation center to influence the development of the testing strategy to ensure enterprise risks are prioritized.

- University degree - Finance, Business or other relevant discipline and/or experience. Master’s degree, an asset.
- 8-10 years progressive risk management leadership (preferably enterprise risk) experience in a relevant industry (financial sector preferred) or government.
- Highly successful people leader.
- Demonstrated capability to engage constructively and respectfully with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities to achieve high quality outcomes.
- Project Management skills.
- Ability to work in both official languages, an asset.
- Professional designation(s), an asset.
**Must have**
Language Requirements: BBB (bilingualism French & English, intermediate level)
Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain a Secret level security clearance
