This position works out of a third-party distribution center in Brampton, Ontario, and will report to the O.P.D.I. QA Team Lead. Company Ontario Potato Dist. (Alliston) 1991 Inc. has operated as a solely family-owned venture for over 50 years and has been providing high-quality potatoes across Ontario. O.P.D.I. now offers a wide range of services including: - Potato packing and storage - Logistics and transport - Lumping operations - Quality Assurance - Home Delivery Service **Responsibilities**: - This position will involve conducting QC inspections within the citrus bagging area. - This position will also involve conducting QC inspections on a variety of vegetables and fruits as per established produce procedures. - Complete product inspection on inbound produce which includes but not limited to temperature checks, quality defects and label requirements by following company guidelines. - Work closely with produce buyers to determine disposition items that fail to meet inspection criteria, if required. - Follow day to day procedures (includes watch-outs, huddles, quality defects) and other responsibilities as assigned. - Work on projects as assigned by your Supervisor. **Requirements**: - Minimum related College/Diploma is required. - Prior experience performing inspections on fresh produce (fruits and vegetables) is an asset. - Proficient in using Microsoft Office including Excel is an asset. - Experience using SAP to log rejections is an asset. - Ability to be flexible working in different shifts. - Ability to follow company SOP’s and Food Safety Guidelines with minimum supervision. - Excellent written & verbal communication skills. - Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work individually and in a team setting. - Working in a 0-4°C refrigerated environment. - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. **We Offer**: - $22/hour - End-of-year bonus - Extensive training program **Company Commitment**: - Ontario Potato Dist.
