Job Summary

**A Brief Overview**
The Service Development directorate of the Information Technology Services department is looking for a Junior Business Analyst to identify business needs within the Queen's community and help enrich the Student, Faculty and Staff experience. The position falls within the Service Development, Campus Solutions team and will typically involve learning about and working with the PeopleSoft Student Self Service and Administrative System.

This role requires an individual with strong planning and organizational skills, with a desire to use these skills to meet new technology demands and provide ways to effectively serve the needs of our faculty and students. This position provides expertise to aid in the planning, design, and development of technical resources. This position translates business requirements into an implementation plan with clients and members of the team. This position updates project managers, sponsors of progress towards objectives, and ensures issues are logged and resolved.

Collaboration is critical to the success of this role. As a member of the Solution Development team, you will work with key stakeholders, systems developers, systems analysts, engineers, technical operations staff and other professionals through the full development and project lifecycle.

**Job Description**:

**What you will do**
- Reviews and edits business requirements and processes and provides regular updates to project managers and client groups.
- Conducts research, develops detailed queries, and addresses information systems changes and business process improvements.
- Recommends system and business process improvements on information system and business process issues.
- Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported and resolved in a timely manner.
- Provides user support, and 3rd level help desk support.
- Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.

**Required Education**
- Three-year Community College Diploma or Three-Year Bachelor Degree, or equivalent. In addition, requires trade certification, qualification, or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.

**Required Experience**
- More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
- Experience in data, trend analysis and reporting considered an asset.
- Experience in client and/or customer experience functions considered an asset.
- Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems Administration considered an asset (e.g., Oracle-PeopleSoft, etc.).
- Experience in writing, interviewing, reviewing, editing and/or proofreading internal and/or external communications and documents considered an asset (e.g., social media, policy manuals, newsletters, handbooks, legal documents, forms/templates, blogs, training/reference materials, technical documents, webinars, etc.).
- Experience working in a comparable client-focused environment considered an asset.
- Experience working at a post-secondary education institution considered an asset.
- Experience in IT software and systems with a focus on designing curriculum/content considered an asset (e.g., tests, visual aids, etc.).
- Experience in program analysis and reporting considered an asset.
- Experience monitoring, evaluating and testing records, processes and/or systems to assess compliance with applicable laws, agreements, contracts, and/or policies considered an asset (e.g., IT systems audits, financial audits, operational audits, etc.).
- Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
