**SUMMARY**:
As the System Network Administrator, you work under the supervision of the IT Operations Manager. You are responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of the servers and systems that support various units and groups within the company as well as for supporting all of the company's communication and mobility systems. You perform analysis and development, with supervision and direction from professional staff, to keep the systems up to date with changes in technology.
You maintain the company's servers and provides professional and operational staff with information on the operation of Microsoft platforms, both in server and client-server environments. Coordinate communication between the user community and the technical functions of IT related to communication and mobility systems. You are a technical resource for other IT members for your knowledge, advice, and support on various projects. In addition, you collaborate with the IT leadership team to assess current systems.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Provide technical leadership for the company.
- Participate in IT group activities by providing reports, follow-up, and communication of problems to the user community with communication and mobility systems.
- Understand critical end-of-month processes, billing processes, and all other critical processes.
- Work to support all servers and communication and mobility systems that provide services to the company.
- Supervise server management activities, backup management, including server priorities, planning, and changes.
- Maintain communication systems (Zoom, MDM, VoIP, etc.).
- Install, manage, and administer critical databases that contain confidential company information, IP address allocation tables and network connections, and other relevant information.
- Ensure secure operation of all servers and services using security and encryption tools such as SSH, SSL, PGP, IPSec, and others.
- Control the log system and activities of all servers.
- Install, maintain, and update client computers (PCs) as required by supported systems.
- Regularly meet with IT managers to update projects, priorities, and upcoming developments.
- Manage access to servers, permissions granted to different users, including additions, modifications, and deletions.
- Maintain server account integrity and server data.
- Manage server security functions to protect confidential information while allowing appropriate access.
- Coordinate system and server maintenance activities and planning.
- Research new technologies and make recommendations for major hardware and software purchases for the company.
- Maintain an inventory of hardware and software and document all changes. Must ensure the impact of these changes on the disaster plan.
- Provide technical support for continuous improvement projects.
- Provide departmental IT coverage to replace staff during vacation, illness, training, etc.
- Represent the company when working with suppliers.
- Perform any other related tasks assigned.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- College degree in computer science or networking.
- Five (5) years of experience in information technology related to network and system administration in a large company.
- Skills with all server operating system versions; knowledge of VoIP, instant messaging, Polycom videoconferencing system, etc.
- Have experience with various operating systems and server administration.
- Experience in a LAN/WAN environment; multi-domain architecture; NTFS/Group Permissions/ Network Security, TCP/IP/DHCP/WINS/DNS.
- Experience in server configuration and installation; network performance and monitoring tools; updating operating systems and migration; strong troubleshooting skills with both hardware and software.
- Bilingual (French and English).
