Working with a knowledgeable Accounting/Admin Assistant, our Controller is charged with the task of maintaining the financial operations of Brown and cleaning the fridge (every once in a while).

The Controller will report directly to Brown’s CEO.

**Responsibilities**
- direct financial operations including accounting, media/production billing, and financial reporting
- provide guidance and recommendations for action in all financial dealings and ensure proper conduct is maintained
- assist in development of an annual business plan and budget
- monitor profitability, operating budgets and cash flow
- maintain bank relationship and reporting requirements
- maintain building lease and landlord relationship
- oversee corporate IT requirements
- explore sources of financing for corporate activities
- maintain and direct client cost accounting systems
- maintain corporate accounting records and prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
- oversee receipt, custody and disbursement of corporate funds
- ensure cash flow is adequate to meet commitments
- protect corporate assets through sound accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
- annual review of insurance coverage
- direct credit and collection management
- prepare annual internal working papers for review by corporate public accounting firm
- prepare and complete financial projects as required

**Requirements**:

- applicable education
- appropriate professional accounting designation
- good with a calculator, abacus, fingers and toes accounting (if need be)
- eligible to work in Canada
