**About the opportunity**:
We’re looking for a Facilities Coordinator who will perform a variety of tasks such as carpentry, drywalling, painting, furniture adjustments, minor electrical, plumbing, general facility maintenance and customer service under the direction of the Facilities Manager to ensure the continuity of manufacturing operations and the safety of building occupants at the Wellington Street location. This role is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ability to perform a wide variety of hands-on maintenance tasks: carpentry, minor mechanical, plumbing, and electrical.
- Observes gauges and makes adjustments as needed.
- Conducts small repairs and physical moves as required and when it is safe to do so. This may include minor construction activities, including the relocation and installation of office and production equipment.
- Ensures that electrical and mechanical systems are monitored and assists with maintenance. This includes: power, HVAC, extractors, boilers, sump pumps, softeners, R.O. systems, etc.
- Supports janitorial and grounds-keeping duties.
- Determines if external contractors are required and communicates with the Facilities Manager.
- Stays in constant contact (by cell) with the Facilities Team and responds to requests and emergencies.
- Through regular movement and when patrolling, observes grounds and building for safety and security concerns, and ensures action is taken.
- Stays up to date on compliance related requirements (building codes, health & safety, quality standards and other applicable legislation).

**Location**: Monday to Friday fully on-site position located in Kitchener, ON
**The experience and skills we value**:

- Carpentry certificate or similar preferred, but not required along with 3-5 years’ relevant work experience in the construction or facilities management industry; and in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Use of hand and power tools, measuring tools and gauges
- Ability to operate motorized equipment (snow blower/tractor, scissor lift, fork truck)
- Ability to work on ladders and elevated surfaces
- Moderate physical effort (standing, bending, pushing/pulling), reaching above shoulder level, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Initiative and ingenuity
- Good customer service skills, especially when dealing with complaints and employee requests

**What will put you ahead**:

- Experience with AutoCAD would be considered an asset
