The main purpose of the Junior Policy Analyst is to provide research, analysis, key support and quality recommendations to support the projects and initiatives of the Executive Council Office. The incumbent has a considerable role in policy, research, program development and project implementation, including work related to Cabinet processes, policy development, and research. The Junior Policy Analyst will be required to engage with provincial government departments and internal or external agencies in support of this work.

**Duties will include but are not limited to**:

- Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative information for the purpose of project development;
- Complete projects assigned by senior staff of the Executive Council Office and assist with the delivery strategic initiatives;
- Track and monitor project milestones to ensure projects are staying on target;
- Provide key support, research and recommendations on policy work and strategies to senior staff or policy leads;
- Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative information for the purpose of policy development and implementation;
- Prepare Treasury Board and/or Executive Council memos as required;
- Engage with other provincial departments or agencies to collection information for the development of briefing material to be used in intergovernmental and/or Cabinet meetings;
- Provide quality research functions and analysis related to Cabinet submissions and policy decisions;
- Other duties as required.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Successful completion of a post-secondary program, such as a Bachelor of Business Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, Research Methods, Public Administration, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered.
- Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Some experience in identifying, retrieving, analyzing, evaluating and synthesizing evidence from reports and documents and meeting tight timelines.
- Some experience in working with, or engagement in community organizations or groups.
- Some experience in facilitating and presenting information in a clear, concise and accurate manner through effective written, oral and visual communication.
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural communications skills with the ability to foster collaboration and partnerships.
- Applicants must have a good previous work and attendance record.
- The successful applicant must provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check prior to beginning employment.

**Other Qualifications**:

- Project coordination experience considered an asset.
- Active engagement with diverse community organizations or ethnic/underrepresented groups is an asset.
- Bilingualism or multilingualism is an asset.
- Financial acumen is an asset.
