**About the Role**

As a **Technical Alignment Specialist,** is responsible for assessing, documenting, and improving clients’ technical environments to ensure they align with the MSP’s standards, best practices, and strategic roadmap. The TAS functions as the technical counterpart to the vCIO, focusing on risk reduction, configuration consistency, security posture, and technology standardization across multiple client environments.

This role ensures clients operate within a predictable, stable, and secure infrastructure, decreasing reactive support incidents and increasing customer satisfaction.

**Schedule**: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
**Work Mode**:Hybrid

**What You Will Do**
- Perform regular onsite and remote technical assessments for assigned client environments.
- Evaluate client configurations against MSP-defined technical standards and best practices (security, infrastructure, cloud, networking, backup, etc.).
- Document misalignments and identify risk levels, remediation urgency, and business impact.
- Update and maintain technical standards documentation alongside Service Delivery leadership.
- Ensure fully accurate and up-to-date documentation in the MSP’s IT documentation system (IT Glue, Hudu, etc.).
- Capture detailed network diagrams, system inventories, licensing, warranties, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Work with project teams to validate documentation after major implementations.
- Provide the vCIO with technical insight and risk summaries that support quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
- Translate technical misalignments into business-aligned recommendations for roadmaps.
- Discuss upcoming client strategic changes with vCIOs or AMs to ensure future technical readiness.
- Identify recurring misalignment patterns across clients to inform standard updates and MSP-wide improvements.
- Highlight emerging cybersecurity risks and support the introduction of new standards (MFA, patching, backup, compliance).
- Partner with the project team to scope technical remediation efforts where needed.
- Communicate with Service Desk, Projects, and NOC teams to ensure alignment findings are properly actioned.
- Participate in internal technical standards committees or improvement meetings.
- Provide technical mentorship to service teams on alignment standards and requirements.

**What We Are Looking For**
- 3+ years in an MSP, technical account management, or pre-sales engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365/Azure, Windows Server, networking, security practices, and MSP toolsets.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience creating proposals and scoping IT projects.
- Strong understanding of SMB infrastructure
- Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID
- Network fundamentals (firewalls, switching, VLANs)
- Backup/disaster recovery technologies
- Cybersecurity standards and controls
- Experience with RMM/PSA platforms (Datto, ConnectWise, N-able, or similar)
- Familiarity with IT documentation systems (IT Glue, Hudu)
- Highly detail‑oriented with strong documentation discipline
- Excellent communication skills (translating technical conditions into business impact)
- Strong client‑facing professionalism and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Analytical mindset with a process‑driven approach
- Ability to work independently in client environments
