Parsons is now hiring a **Systems Safety Manager **who can lead a team of professionals working on our expanding portfolio of projects. In this role you provide management and direction for the System Safety and RAM team on major projects or proposals. We have an immediate need for a Systems Safety Manager on a major project in Canada managing the EN-50126 Systems Safety Certification. Your role may include recruitment, interview, and evaluation of prospective team members as well as personnel development, performance evaluations, counselling team members and taking corrective actions as required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Reviews and approves discipline staffing budget estimates and staffing assignment schedules on assigned projects.
- Maintains appropriate staffing level, including temporary personnel, as needed. Reviews and approves staff forecasting reports.
- If assigned to a major project or program, manages all engineering and design efforts for all disciplines required for the program.
- Coordinates all discipline staffing requirements for the program.
- Monitors the quality and progress of the discipline on assigned projects, ensuring that production requirements are satisfied.
- Works closely with Project and other Engineering Managers to resolve any existing or forecasted problems related to discipline staffing, quality of work, schedule performance, or productivity. Establishes standards and procedures manuals for the discipline.
- Recommends improvements to department and project processes and procedures.
- Supports precontract and business development efforts as required, serving as technical consultant.
- Actively participates in and promotes the Quality Improvement Program.
- May head a committee within the RAM and Safety discipline for the development of a particular area of benefit to the technical community.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field)
- 15+ years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience
- Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional engineering society is required
- Proven ability to perform in a managerial capacity
- Excellent written, oral communications and people skills
- Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing Safety and RAM analyses.
