THE ROLE
We’re seeking a bright, energetic, and community-minded Culture & Impact Manager to lead our people strategy and help shape the culture of our growing team. This is a unique role that blends human resources leadership with cultural development, health and safety oversight, impact reporting, change management, communications, and community engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Human Resources
- Lead all HR functions: recruitment, onboarding, staff contracts, performance reviews, employee relations etc.
- Maintain clear, compliant, and people-focused HR practices
- Partner with managers to ensure smooth and strategic team growth
- Solve HR issues and challenges as they arise

Culture & Team Engagement
- Bring daily energy, positivity, and passion to the workplace—model connection, care, and excitement about our mission
- Organize and host internal events (e.g. BBQs, holiday parties, off-sites) to build team connection
- Foster a values-based culture aligned with our mission and Indigenous leadership
- Plan initiatives that support morale, inclusion, and retention
- Help create a workplace where people feel seen, valued, and inspired to do their best work

Change Management
- Lead and support change initiatives across the organization
- Help staff navigate growth, new systems, and evolving roles with confidence and clarity
- Champion adaptability and a solutions-oriented mindset throughout the team

Health & Safety
- Act as the primary Health & Safety lead for Salish Soils
- Ensure all practices meet or exceed WorkSafeBC and provincial safety regulations
- Maintain and update safety policies, training materials, and incident reporting procedures
- Coordinate regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, drills, and audits
- Serve as a go-to resource for staff regarding safety concerns or incidents
- Lead employee onboarding with a strong focus on site-specific health and safety expectations
- Proactively identify and resolve safety risks in collaboration with the operations team
- Foster a culture of safety awareness, shared responsibility, and care for one another

Impact, Communications and Community Engagement
- Track social and environmental metrics and develop our Impact report that we can share with the community (e.g. GHG reductions, hiring of Indigenous youth, food waste diversion etc.)
- Coordinate and lead site visits tours and outreach programs (e.g., with Schools)
- Represent Salish Soils at events, conferences, and community gatherings
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align internal and external communications, including social media, storytelling, and public-facing updates
- Ensure community and employee communications reflect our mission, values, and impact goals

WHO YOU ARE
- 3-6+ years of HR or people & culture experience
- Strong communicator—positive, personable, and proactive
- Excited to work in a First Nations-owned, impact-focused business
- Able to manage multiple priorities with clarity and empathy
- Skilled in relationship building and change management
- Experience with communications or social media is a plus
- Health and Safety experience preferred
- You are currently living on the Sunshine Coast, or in the process of moving to the Coast

WORK SCHEDULE
- Location: Based in Sechelt, BC
- 4 or 5 Days per Week:

- If 5 days: 4 in-person, 1 remote
- If 4 days: all in-person
