**About our Firm**

Heer Law specializes in providing intellectual property law, intellectual property litigation, patent agent and trademark agent services. We are an established intellectual property law firm located in downtown Toronto. The firm has experienced strong annual revenue growth over the past 4 years and anticipates that the firm will again double over the next 3 years.

**The Role**

**Responsibilities**
- Preparing patent office submissions with CIPO and USPTO under the supervision of a professional
- Preparing reporting correspondence to clients using standard precedents
- Responding to clients and following up with CIPO and the USPTO
- Paying Canadian and US maintenance fees
- Preparing and processing semi-monthly billing for our patent practice
- Docketing, managing due dates and maintaining a filing system
- Assisting our client intake team in running conflict checks, sending out a Client Identification Information forms, and preparing and sending out engagement letters through our CRM software, Lawmatics
- Other general administrative tasks, as required

**Qualifications**
- 2 to 5 years as an IP Patent Clerk or similar role
- Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate or Law Clerk Diploma
- Other post-secondary education is an asset
- Strong English communications skills, both written and oral
- Experience working in patent law is required
- Experience working in IP litigation is preferred
- Experience working in trademark law is considered an asset
- Experience working with accounting software (e.g., PCLaw, Soluno) is required
- Experience working with docketing software (e.g., DocketTrak) is required
- Experience working with a CRM system (e.g., Salesforce, Lawmatics, Clio Grow) is an asset
- Strong MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Organized and a strong attention to detail
