We are currently seeking highly motivated, service-oriented individuals to join the Facility Set-Up Department for **full-time and part-time EVENT SET UP LABOUR CREW** for all shifts (morning, afternoon and graveyard), reporting to the Operations Manager, Facility Set-Up, this role is responsible for:
**GENERAL RESPONSBILITIES**:

- Following the direction of Crew Leaders, Supervisors, and Managers to ensure all rooms are set to accurate specifications including staging, chairs, and tables for all meetings and events and completed on time.
- Modifying room and equipment set ups as required for client needs, sometimes under tight deadlines.
- Confirming items that are required through the course of the shift are made ready for relevant events.
- Ensuring all storage rooms and equipment are kept clean and on designated racks.
- Reporting any unusable equipment (broken or dirty) following the appropriate repair procedure
- Coordinating with departments to ensure that all events and clients needs are met and kept in accordance with the Vancouver Convention Centre service standard.
- Movement of freight and equipment using lifts, including forklift if licensed.
- Working within WorkSafe B.C. standards concerning equipment and physical demands in the workplace.
- Communicating and professionally representing the department at all times.

**KEY REQUIREMENTS**:

- Experience working in events or a large-scale convention or hotel environment would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with various types of room set-ups and equipment an asset but not required.
- Must be self-motivated, have a positive attitude and work well within a team environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change, and work calmly and efficiently in a high-volume capacity when necessary.
- Strong communication skills to converse with team members, other departments and potential clients and contractors.
- Prior knowledge of and experience using lifts and/or Forklift license an asset but not required for all Attendants.

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:

- Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for the entire shift.
- Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally greater with another person.
- The employee is required to bend stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb, and must have the ability to reach overhead, above the shoulders.
- Must be able to go from warm to cold climates.

**SHIFTS AND HOURS**:
Shift start and end times will be determined by business needs and hours may vary week to week depending on event demand. The position may require working early morning, late evening, graveyard shifts, weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required.
