Wine Cellar Manager

The Manager, Dymon Wine Cellar is responsible for the leadership and successful operation of an entrepreneurial business providing first class wine storage and “member only” wine club amenities. The Manager is focused on sales and member retention to achieve and maintain 100% occupancy of the available Wine Cellar space. This includes ensuring that the amenities and services are fully functional at all times and operating in accordance with established Dymon standards designed to consistently exceed member expectations. The Manager develops a collaborative environment that encourages the sharing of ideas and information of interest to wine aficionados to ensure that service offerings are aligned with member requirements and to identify opportunities for cross promotion of other DYMON products and services.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Business Development
- Ensure that people, processes and equipment are in place to support the operation.
- Lead business development initiatives and build brand awareness.
- Creates and develops together with the Director a unique ‘Experience” for the members.
- Establish targets for sales and retention; monitor progress and results.
- Prepare operating budgets for the business; responsible for P & L performance.
- Establish and maintain solid relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Work collaboratively with Dymon’s marketing team to develop and implement strategic marketing plan.
- Identify new service and product offerings to enhance and expand member experience.
- Regularly solicit feedback from members to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement and new product offerings.
- Be aware of and constantly monitor the competition
- Keeps an inventory of retail and operational products on a monthly basis
Community Awareness and Engagement
- Encourage business development via networking events
- Participate in community events to build awareness and generate leads
- Establish and maintain relationships with the wine community including agents, wineries, sommeliers, wine clubs and others who will provide referrals and prospects
- Design and implement community guidelines and best practices to optimize member experience; immediately and consistently address any issues related to non-compliance or conflicts.
- Develop and manage the Wine Cellar membership to ensure positive experiences, expand network and identify future clientele.
- Connect with other business function areas in Dymon to promote Dymon Wine Cellar and look for opportunities to network and build member base
Cellar Management
- Ensure that the Wine Cellar operates in full compliance with all Dymon rules and regulations in addition to municipal and provincial legislation pertaining to the storage and serving of alcohol and the operation of a private wine club including fire safety and emergency plans.
- Undertake regular inspections of the Wine Cellar storage space and amenities and make recommendations for required repairs, maintenance or updates; ensure that the level of cleanliness meets Dymon standards.
- Oversee member move-ins and move-outs for quality experience.
Personnel Management
- Manage and support the team to achieve occupancy targets and other business objectives including compliance with established policies and procedures; measure progress and provide individual coaching as required.
- Undertake annual performance reviews and quarterly check-ups as per company policy; lead and support professional development activities.
- Establish and maintain internal communication channels to ensure that all staff are well informed regarding operational issues and the members.
**Primary Objectives**:
- Proudly represent, promote and protect the Dymon Storage brand.
- Take pride in the position, develop a sense of ownership for the business, demonstrate passion for the role and build a successful career.
- Actively contribute to providing members with exceptional value and experiences that consistently exceed expectations.
- Meet and exceed financial expectations related to the Wine Cellar revenues and expenses.
- Expand the business and launch Wine Cellar operations in new locations.

**Education & Experience**:
- College diploma or University degree in a business program (marketing, communications, public relations). The education requirement may be overlooked in favour of relevant work experience.
