**Salary**: $2,626.89 to $3,448.73 bi-weekly ($68,561 to $90,011 / year)
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs supports municipalities in providing well-managed, fiscally responsible, and accountable local government to Albertans. This includes administering municipal grant programs; delivering advisory and capacity-building supports; providing municipal services and managing public lands in the province’s three Special Areas; and overseeing the safety codes system in the province. The ministry also fosters stronger, safer communities across the province, and enables local governments to facilitate Alberta’s economic prosperity.

**Case Management & Hearing Coordination**:
- Provide procedural advice and scheduling support to parties
- Coordinate hearings across Alberta, including travel as required
- Draft decisions and Board orders, ensuring legal conformity and timely release
**Legal Analysis & Board Support**:
- Conduct background research and interpret legislation, board decisions, and relevant case law
- Identify sensitive issues and brief panel members accordingly
- Guide the decision-making process to ensure adherence to administrative law and evidentiary standards
- Ensure consistency and clarity in decision documentation and legal interpretation
**Stakeholder Engagement & Client Service**:
- Build effective relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and parties to appeals
- Lead discussions to clarify Board procedures and promote understanding of legislative mandates
- Provide expert responses to inquiries, including those from ministry leaders, MLAs, the Ombudsman, and FOIP officials
**Training & Knowledge Sharing**:
- Develop and deliver training sessions and materials for Board Members and stakeholders
- Prepare communications including bulletins, briefing notes, and newsletter content
- Simplify complex legal or procedural issues for various audiences
- Represent the Board at speaking engagements or stakeholder events

A degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, Planning,, plus a minimum two years of directly related work experience or assessment accreditation with extensive years of related experience. Equivalencies will be considered.
**Equivalency**: Directly related education or experience considered based on:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education
**Assets**:
- Knowledge of administrative law (principles of natural justice and fairness) and quasi-judicial dispute resolution processes.
- Case/project management methods, principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with Land and Property Rights Tribunal procedures, rules and practices.
- Knowledge of land planning in Alberta, municipal administration.
- Knowledge of surface rights and related compensation issues.
- Working understanding of legislation and regulations relevant to LPRT, including:
- Municipal Government Act
- Surface Rights Act
