Capital Ford Lincoln is looking for a full time Deal Desk Accounting Clerk The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for the performance of a variety of duties from balancing vehicle sales to diligent records management. Responsibilities will include posting manufacturer invoices and incentives, posting of vehicle sale files, claiming of incentives, tracking funding and financing of vehicles, calculation of sales commissions and managing several accounting schedules. Other responsibilities will include collection and follow up of accounts receivable from both customer and manufacturer.
**Job Duties**
- Utilizes computer systems to enter vehicle sales and calculate gross profit.
- Provides feedback to managers in regards to errors and aging receivables.
- Contacts corporate headquarters for outstanding claims.
- Prepares customer lien payouts, loan buyouts and referral cheques.
- Reconciles the monthly floorplan statements for both new and used vehicles.
- Chattels used vehicles purchased on trade or at auction, as well as new vehicles taken in through dealer transfers.
- Makes adjustments to vehicle deals when necessary and tracks the net adjustments to the appropriate commissioned staff member.
- Works together with the sales department to ensure quality standards are met.
- Performs related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.
- Stay current with all regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements and industry trends
- Performs other duties as required.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 1-2 years working experience in accounting required
- Automotive dealership experience a definite asset
- Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Ability to adapt to and learn new software
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- High level of personal integrity
- Strong work ethic
- Confident, consistent, decisive personality
- Reynolds & Reynolds software experience an asset
