**Qualifications**:

- Professional experience in dealing with children
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid Standard First Aid Certificate including Infant and child CPR
- Up to date immunization record
- Early Childhood Education Diploma (member of the College of ECE/Early Childhood Assistant Diploma
- Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act
- Be trained in WHMIS
- Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting up to 20kg (44lbs.), bending and stooping
- Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork
- Ability to be flexible, to show initiative and work independently adhering to centre policies
- Must be able to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round in all weather.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Registered Early Childhood Educators (ECE) in implementing the daily program plan
- Maintain a tidy, clean environment for the children
- Participate fully in routine care and responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the learning environment, setting up the centre and preparing needed materials and supplies.
- Work as a team with other RECE Teachers and ECAs in the assigned classroom so that duties are shared
- Responsible for effective and practical care of all equipment, toys and supplies
- Prepare and maintain a safe, clean, stimulating environment for children in the assigned classroom.
