**Overview**
The General Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the meat department's operations within a retail and wholesale environment. This position is responsible for ensuring management of employees, overseeing daily operations (such as maintaining inventory levels), strategic planning, and providing exceptional customer service. The General Manager will lead a team of butchers, drivers and meat clerks, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while promoting a positive working experience for the staff.

**Duties**
- Supervise daily operations, including staff management and scheduling.
- Ensure all meat products are fresh, properly packaged and meet quality standards.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices for meat preparation, cutting techniques, and customer service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in accordance with health regulations.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues
- Management of both wholesale and online retail websites

**Qualifications**
- 5+ years of General Management experience in hospitality
- Experience in a meat department or similar role within a retail and wholesale environment
- Strong knowledge of various types of meats, cuts, and preparation techniques
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with customers and staff
- Attention to detail to ensure product quality and compliance with safety standards
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Certification in food safety or handling is preferred but not required

Pay: From $25.02 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
