We produce over 200 specialty cold cuts, sausages, and smoked meats, as well as over 100 prepared fine foods. **What We Offer** - 20% Staff discount across all retail locations - Immediate health, vision and dental benefits upon hire - Employee Assistance Program - Access to 24/7 virtual health care - Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP) - Access to corporate perks and discounts **Job Summary**: Responsible for the entire plant operation including but not limited to profit & loss, quality assurance, staffing and performance management. **Reports to**: Chief Executive Officer **Job Duties** - Responsible for the profit & loss of the manufacturing plant. - Monitor the financial performance of areas of responsibility against approved budgets. - Inventory management, shrink control and production forecasting. - Participates in new product development. - Develop, implement and measure KPIs to ensure efficiency of operations. - Develop and manage operating budget, capital planning and execution of projects. - Ensures business continuity by reviewing daily activity, operations, sales and inventory reports to effectively manage productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. - Ensure that all GMPs, sanitation requirements and allergen management are adhered to. - Reviews and revises Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the department, as required. Ensures all SOPs are consistently followed and enforced. - Responsible for quality assurance, ensures that all food safety specifications and product quality standards are met. - Responsible for all Government operational compliance and communications including but not limited to the City of Hamilton, OMAFRA, MOL, MOE and CFIA. - Manage production needs and equipment capabilities to achieve the production requirements. - Responsible for all aspects of Human Resources functions for the team including hiring, onboarding, performance management and disciplinary matters. - Ensure that Production Associates have received adequate training and supports Supervisors in following all procedures and guidelines. - Provide overall management of the entire production team. - Establish goals and priorities and manage the activities and work of subordinates. - Develop team capabilities through continued on-the-job and formal training opportunities and coaching. - All other duties as assigned. **Job Requirements** - Minimum five years of Production Management experience in the food industry required, preferably in a meat processing plant. - Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, OMAFRA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, food safety, food quality, etc. are required. - Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field required. - Experience using ERP systems, CSB is an asset. - Highly analytical with an innovative mindset. - Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach. - High level of professionalism with the ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organizations and external stakeholders. - Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and all other workplace health & safety regulations. - Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multitasking is essential. - Basic Computer Skills, knowledge of Google Applications is an asset. **Essential Job Functions** - Stand and walk for extended periods of time. - Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat. - Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds.
