EDUCATION

Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in clinical, forensic or counseling psychology.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION

EXPERIENCE
- Recent experience* in planning, implementing and evaluation of health interventions and/or programs in interdisciplinary practice settings.

(*Experience being defined as 3 cumulative years within the last 5 years)

KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of legislation and policies that influence the delivery of health service within a Correctional milieu such as acts, the mandate, priorities, Commissioner’s Directives, guidelines and/or accreditation standards.
- Knowledge of current and emerging health/education technologies, trends and best practices.
- Knowledge of professional standards, ethical standards, resources, human rights and health.

EDUCATION

Doctorate from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in clinical, forensic or counseling psychology.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
- Experience in managing financial or human resources.
- Experience as a discipline-specific professional practice lead or related resources in the health care field.
- Experience providing discipline-specific services in a correctional environment.
- Experience providing discipline-specific services to culturally diverse populations.
- Experience providing discipline-specific services to vulnerable populations (e.g. persons with cognitive impairments, etc.).
- Experience in providing discipline-specific services in a mental health environment.
- Experience in conducting research.
- Experience establishing, developing and managing productive and cooperative partnerships with community-based services (e.g. community capacity building).
