Giancola Aluminum Contractors Inc. is looking for an important addition to our estimating team. The successful applicant should have an appreciation for architecture and a strong understanding of construction and building systems. As a Construction Estimator, your main responsibility will be to estimate work of particular projects using blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

**Responsibilities**:
Review proposal specifications and preliminary drawings to determine scope of work and determine the quantity of materials and labour required for the project (take-off process) and any other factors that may impact overall cost.

Analyzes specifications and calculates the quantity materials required for the project and inputs the data into spreadsheets and Estimating software.

Recalculate estimates in response to any client/architectural specification changes, as required.

Perform complex analysis of collected data and metrics

Prepare relevant and reliable tenders

Education and Experience:
Post-Secondary diploma in Construction/Architectural Technology or equivalent technical field required

Degree / Working on Degree in construction science or similar relevant field

Previous working experience as construction estimator would be an asset

Skills, Knowledge and Competency Requirements:
Good organizational skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities

In-depth knowledge of project management

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Good understanding of data analysis methods

Strong mathematical skills

Strong interpersonal and effective oral and written communication skills

Critical-thinker and problem-solver

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
