**SEASONAL FORKLIFT OPERATOR**

**Work location - Chapman Settlement, NS**

**Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States and around the world. We have two state-of-the-art potato processing plants in PEI, another in Jamestown, ND and Lethbridge, Alberta and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, ON. Our Head office is in Dieppe, NB and sales office locations are in Toronto, Montreal and Boston**.

Cavendish Farms is looking for Forklift Operator for a period of **4-6 weeks**. Expected start date is **September 9**nd**, 2024.** The exact start date and period of work will be dependent on weather and business needs.
- Ability to operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner
- Forklift license would be considered an asset
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Availability to work extended hours, evenings and weekends
- Ability to work independently and in a fast paced team environment
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- High degree of attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Mechanical aptitude and previous experience in farm operations would be an asset
- A keen understanding of the load and operational limitations of a forklift
- Willing to help in other areas of the grading crew if needed

**Key responsibilities**:

- Operation of forklifts
- Use forklift to place pallets/boxes near running equipment in tight quarters
- Ability to load a tractor trailers
- Harvesting potatoes and storing potatoes
- Basic maintenance
- Flexible schedule to accommodate harvest weather windows
- Help out in other areas of the harvest warehouse crew if needed
- All other duties as assigned
