**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Enterprise Data Governance Analyst is responsible for supporting the data governance program at D2L. They are responsible for evaluating, designing, developing and governing data and business intelligence assets enabling operational and strategic analysis across D2L corporate teams and through the customer journey.

**Major Responsibilities (How Will I Make an Impact?)**:

- Works with Data Governance Team and cross-functional business units to identify, design and maintain data transformation opportunities aiming to streamline and scale D2L Enterprise Data Governance
- Translate the business needs to our data infrastructure plan, including scoping out both enhancements and net new technology solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and implement scripts to extract data from various D2L data sources to facilitate and support data governance processes.
- Proactively assess the enterprise's needs to problem-solve for ongoing operational and governance requirements as they arise. This includes, but is not limited to, conducting data profiles, performing root cause analysis, and implementing change management processes.
- Collaboration with IT and Data Teams: Work closely with IT and other data teams to understand data needs and ensure that the data extraction scripts are optimized to meet these needs. Coordinate with these teams to rectify any issues in the data extraction processes
- Ensure Compliance with Data Governance Policies: Ensure that the development and implementation of data extraction scripts are in line with the organization's data governance policies. This includes ensuring that the extraction processes respect data privacy and security guidelines.
- Improving Data Quality: Utilize data extraction to identify, monitor, report, and improve data quality. Ensure the accuracy and consistency of extracted data by implementing robust quality checks within the extraction scripts
- Document extraction processes, data dictionary, data policies to increase overall data literacy and to troubleshoot issues that may arise in the future.
- Stay up-to-date on the newest development tool, technologies and methodologies.
- Provide guidance and training to business stakeholders on data management and remediation processes.
- Support the development of data governance policies, data management guidelines, data quality metrics and data dictionary enterprise wide.
- Create visually appealing reports, dashboards, and metrics that provide valuable business insights. Use tools like Power BI to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making and driving business growth.
- Maintain and enhance existing Power BI dashboard for the Enterprise Application Team.

**Competencies**
- Knowledge of data governance principles and practices.
- Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations.
- Familiar with data governance concepts such as critical data elements, metadata management, data lineage, data quality management, and stewardship model.
- Extensive functional and technical knowledge of advanced data management processes (ETL vs ELT, building automated processes for data acquisition, integration, and consumption)
- Ability to create and maintain metrics, while understanding how to effectively articulate those metrics to the business to effect change or influence
- Ability to Influence change across cross-functional teams with the different levels of the organization
