We are currently hiring for a Master Data Governance Specialist in Kitchener. If you’re highly motivated and are ready for an exciting career that will shape the future of the foodservice industry, we want to hear from you.
**Position Summary**:
The Master Data Governance Specialist will contribute to the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of master data across the organization. This will include the execution of activities to define, categorize, maintain, and secure master data, to promote efficiency and enhanced customer service standards/excellence. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Procurement, Category Management, IT, third party vendors, GS1 and Sales to drive continuous improvement initiatives, and enhance the Flanagan Foodservice E-Commerce platform.
**Schedule Details**: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Conduct audit process of master data and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to determine effective master data setup (taxonomy) for all existing data.
- Designing and implementing data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the accuracy, security, and consistency of our master data assets.
- Create metadata management and data documentation.
- Designing, implementing, and performing data quality controls to ensure data is accurate and reliable.
- Conducting governance training programs, materials and awareness for employees.
- Collaborating with other teams to implement master data governance.
- Contributing to the definition of indicators of performance (KPIs) and quality metrics and monitoring compliance with standards and policies.
- Staying up to date with industry trends and regulations related to data governance.
- Collaborate/partner with I.T. to process large data updates as part of data standardization and cleansing process.
- Collaborate/partner with I.T. to run reports showing existing data setups and differences.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate master data management solutions with enterprise systems (GS1, E3, Forms, e-Commerce and Poet) ensuring seamless data flow and synchronization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and requirements and provide guidance on data governance and management best practices.
- Conduct testing, maintenance, and updates for the continuous improvement of master data.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation, to enhance efficiency, scalability, and agility of master data management operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- 3+ years of experience in master data management, data governance, or related fields, preferably within the foodservice industry.
- Post-Secondary degree/diploma in a related field considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of data governance principles, best practices, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in data modeling, data profiling, and data quality assessment.
- Experience with data governance tools and technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of data privacy regulations.
- Experience with GS1 considered an Asset.
- Ability to work independently ensuring alignment to our IT strategy.
- Experience leading projects and working effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Must have a high level of attention to detail, and complete projects with accuracy and efficiency.
