We are currently recruiting for the position of Controller to support the day-to-day operations of our Business Office.
The position will report to the Director of Finance, our Chief Finance Officer at the College, and assist them in carrying out the various mandates of the business office to support the needs of the College. The Controller will be primarily responsible for overseeing the day to day functioning of the office with an emphasis on creation and maintenance of effective business practices.
**Duties and Responsibilities**- Provide leadership and direction to ensure that the College meets its strategic, financial and accounting objectives- Oversight of daily, monthly and quarterly accounting functions including student billing, collections, accounts payable, maintenance of the general ledger, bank and other required reconciliations, year-end reporting and procurement- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements along with internal variance and forecast analysis to support fulsome reporting to the Finance Committee and the Board of Governors- Assist the Director with leading the processes with respect to the preparation of preliminary and final budgets along with required working papers- Act as a support to the Payroll Manager as required- Recommend, plan and execute internal controls and financial policies to ensure the safeguarding of College assets and to support enterprise risk functions- Support staff through coaching, mentoring and goal development programs to ensure the smooth operations of the office and the dynamic of the team- Management of the year-end audit process and serve as a critical liaison with the external auditors- Liaise with the leadership team, schools and various departments to support financial strategy and decision making- Key support to Campus store with respect to inventory management and development of store specific policies & procedures- Manage all tax related programs such the charity program, G/HST filings, as well as supporting all other aspects of ensuring regulatory compliance with federal and provincial legislation- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Finance
**Qualifications**- Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or business/commerce- CPA designation- Progressive experience in Senior Finance and Operations roles and possess strong leadership skills- Experience within a non-profit organization, and well versed in the financial logistics related to fundraising- Exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build collegial relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including employees, students, parents and community partners- Experience supporting and building high-performing teams, positive cultures, and innovative environments, achieving impressive results
**Salary Range: Band 8: $91,335 - 137,002**
