We are seeking a **Controller** to join our team of highly skilled professionals. The Controller will assist and support the CFO in achieving the Financial Department’s goals and objectives under Valery Group while maintaining financial records for both our development and property management divisions.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Planning, managing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions
- Coordinating and preparing financial statements, spend reports and analysis for various developments
- Ensure HST and WSIB filings are filed timely by respective parties and assist where necessary
- Prepare cash flow analysis for various properties and cash call requirements for any JV/LP arrangements; including preparation of monthly and/or quarterly reporting based on our Agreements
- Along with Co-Controllers complete month end close procedures for all entities including monthly operational report to CFO
- Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
- Work with CFO to define, measure, analyze, forecast, improve, and refine current procedures to ensure internal operating efficiency
- Present monthly, quarterly, and annual operating results for all developments, monitor progress and compare to budgets with a view to identify, explain and correct variances as appropriate
- Prepare quarterly management reports for our rental projects and assist with presentation to Executive Team
- Work with team to prepare annual TMI reconciliations for our commercial tenants and issue invoicing as required
- Ensure CFO is up to date on all current and emerging accounting issues and their impact on the financial reporting of the company
- Proactively assist with cost control requirements and revenue enhancement possibilities
- Responsible for the accuracy and timelines of financial information
- Provide CFO & Executive Team with strategic analysis as required to drive improved decision making
- Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits including preparation of year end working papers for external auditors
- Support and work closely with CFO and Executive Team
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the CFO

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
- Previous experience in the Home Builder/Developer or Construction Industry is preferred
- Accounting designation CPA, CMA or CGA preferred, or equivalent combination of related experience and education
- Minimum 5 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or similar role
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook
- Must possess excellent written & verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, ability to work with a team, critical thinking, and organization skills
