**Reports to**:National Director, Supply Chain Management
**Purpose of the Role** Reporting to the National Director Supply Chain Management, independently leads a team of sourcing specialists to strategically select products, services and suppliers ensuring the best possible price, quality, service and overall terms that align to the Corporation’s goals and objectives. Creates strategies to pursue opportunities to reduce costs, minimize risk and improve business conditions by leveraging the use of common services, technology and consumables nationally to allow for the greatest possible purchasing power and efficiencies in line with Corporate goals.
The manager will be accountable for the creation and maintenance of our contracts management strategy including the appropriate contract language required to meet the evolving needs of the organization including rigorous Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Working with the Senior and Executive Leadership teams, the manager will create the annual procurement strategy for material savings and productivity initiatives in line with the strategic goals of the organization.
**_This is a Full Time Remote position. Preferred location would be Ontario._**
**Core Accountabilities**
**Achieve lowest “Total Cost of Ownership”**
- The Strategic Sourcing Manager is accountable for selecting the best supplier and assuring that LifeLabs is getting the best value for the price paid. This includes favorable terms and conditions, risk mitigation, service level agreements, quality, and cost management that ensures that LifeLabs gains maximum benefit from its investment in its overall supply chain. The manager will use the following methods to achieve this:
- Competitive bidding
- Analytical techniques
- Competitive evaluation
**Strategic Sourcing Best Practices**
- Optimize Procurement and Supplier Relationship Management best practices.
- Lead Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement projects. Build on current initiatives through implementation of solutions as well as identifying further areas for streamlining
- Develop overall commodity strategies through the detailed analysis of various commodity spaces and procurement categories.
- Optimize and deploy digital tools to effectively support Sourcing operations. The manager will be the knowledge expert for any such tools deployed
**Supplier and Contract Management**
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of effective value-driven relationships/contracts with existing and new suppliers. The position will be accountable to achieve procurement targets as identified in the Annual Business Plan
- Ensure that all significant and material spend is governed by a contract that protects the interests of LifeLabs. They are responsible for ensuring that any business, operational or other risks in any contractual arrangement are identified, highlighted, understood and acknowledge by the associated Business Unit
- Ensure contracts are maintained and kept up to date with renewals before expiry.
- Support Operations in all aspects of the supply chain from sourcing to renegotiating agreements. Ensuring that optimal vendor contracts are in place.
**People Development**
- Lead a team of 8-10 (direct and indirect) strategic sourcing professionals
- Ensure organizational structure and employee capability meets present and future needs. Develop talent and maintain succession planning processes to ensure we have the staff to sustain and grow operations.
**Minimum Qualification and Skills**
- Minimum 5 years of strategic sourcing experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of management experience with direct reports
- Post Graduate degree in any discipline
- Experience in strategic sourcing and/or procurement of large “Direct and Indirect Spend”
- Strong process/project and organizational skills developed in a large complex organization
