Cocoabeans is a dedicated gluten free bakery and kitchen providing a wide variety of gluten free desserts, breads and meals. We are looking for an experienced retail associate/barista for our retail space located at 113 St Anne's Rd.

This position is the face of Cocoabeans and represents our brand, customer service and product to our loyal customers.

**Skills**:

- Strong math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating discounts or change
- Ability to speak English, work well in a team and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues is a must.
- Love working with people and helping customers
- Knowledge of the food industry, including food safety practices and regulations
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience with working in a retail setting is preferred
- Barista experience will be considered an asset.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their inquiries and purchases either in person or over the phone.
- Operate cash registers and handle financial transactions accurately including daily cash outs.
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, including restocking shelves, proper labeling/prices and arranging displays
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines. Up to date food handlers certificate is a benefit.
- Assist with food preparation and handling, following proper procedures. This includes cutting bars, assembling dainty platters, and making sandwiches.
- Utilize point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions efficiently (Lightspeed K-series).
- Demonstrate knowledge of Cocoabeans products and make recommendations to customers based on their needs.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and provide a positive shopping experience.
- Knowledge of a gluten-free diet and the risks involved with cross contamination an asset but can be taught
- Accurately prepare and serve hot and cold espresso based drinks.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $15.30 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 25 per week
