Here's what you'll be doing as a Barista:

As a Barista at Stella's, you are responsible for crafting high-quality beverages with care, and processing take-out orders with speed, and consistency. You are passionate about coffee, friendly service, and creating a positive atmosphere for every guest. From expertly pulling espresso shots to recommending menu items, you play a key role in both the guest experience and the overall flow of the restaurant.

Reports To – Restaurant Manager and Supervisors

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, teas, smoothies, and other specialty beverages
  • Make all non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages according to Stella's specifications, maintaining production expediency and quality
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station and surrounding area
  • Provide friendly, accurate, and efficient service to all guests
  • Answer incoming phone calls politely and professionally, providing information about menu items and hours of operation.
  • Communicate with Front of House and Back of House staff to ensure smooth service
  • Follow all Stella's protocol in taking, packaging, checking and processing payments for Door-Dash and take-out orders to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Ensure all items served are entered into the POS System prior to producing them and ensure all payment transactions are accounted for
  • Keep supplies stocked and communicate low inventory to management
  • Perform cleaning duties associated with barista station
  • Adhere to Manitoba Food Safe requirements
  • Provide support to the Front of House team
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications:

    • Manitoba Smart Choices certificate
  • Previous barista or café experience is an asset, but training will be provided
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the team and guests. This includes verbal and written communication and active listening to understand and respond to instructions and requests
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and drink presentation
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Flexible availability to work a variety of shifts including days and evenings. Weekends are mandatory.
