**What is the Opportunity?**

The Manager, Financial Reporting will join the Corporate Financial Reporting team and play a key role in coordinating the Company’s processes involved in the preparation and submission of monthly financial reports, periodic IFRS financial statements, and other statutory reports including public company reporting obligations. This position is involved in maintaining a strong internal control environment to support efficient and reliable financial reporting, consolidating financial data, and establishing accounting policies. The Manager will work closely with the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting and other stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate presentation of financial information to internal and external parties. You will work on complex and challenging technical issues under IFRS and provide guidance to the Operational Finance teams across all Aecon sectors in developing and maintaining accounting policies, controls and related processes for quality assurance and effective governance in financial reporting.

**What You’ll Do Here**:

- Oversee and manage processes related to the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, management’s discussion and analysis, and/or other regulatory disclosure documents to meet the timelines for Audit Committee / Board approval. Financial statement preparation is required for the public company as well as various audited subsidiary companies. This role is also responsible for producing various consolidated management reports on a monthly basis and for ensuring compliance with internal controls by the team.
- Develop and maintain a framework for managing risks in the company’s financial reporting processes to ensure relevant and reliable financial information for stakeholders and regulatory compliance.
- Develop financial policies as required to ensure the Company complies with all areas of IFRS.
- Coordinate and effectively communicate with the external auditors and Aecon business units on a regular basis throughout the year to assist in managing the external audit process.
- Manage the month end close process for the head office accounting function, and coordinate the month end close process across all sectors.
- Assist in any ad hoc analysis of monthly results.
- Liaise with other corporate teams such as tax, budgeting and planning, and investor relations as required.
- Prepare standalone statutory financial statements as required.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of accountants.

**What You Bring to the Team**:

- Completion of a post-secondary degree and professional accounting designation (CPA - CA, CMA, or CGA).
- 5+ years of post-qualification related experience, ideally in public accounting and/or in the construction industry.
- External reporting experience is required, including the preparation of quarterly/annual documents.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, including technical accounting and reporting requirements, and multi-entity consolidations.
