We are looking for the following skills and attributes:

- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, both independently and in a team setting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office
- Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Exposure to U.S. and Canadian tax, personal and corporate is an asset
- Exposure to U.S. and Canadian financial statements is an asset
- Working towards an accounting degree or equivalent (eventually would like to obtain their CPA designation)

The following are the duties related to this position:

- Setting up client files
- Scanning documents and organizing work papers
- Light bookkeeping
- Assists with financial statements (including journal entries)
- Prepares personal Canadian and U.S. income tax returns (resident and non-resident)
- Various non-resident tax compliance reporting
- Assists with Canadian and U.S. Corporate income tax returns
- Compiles tax and financial statement documents for clients
- Corresponds with CRA and the IRS.

The junior accounting associate will have the opportunity to work directly with the managing partner. Work otherwise will be with designated accountants at a senior level.
