Our team in Edmonton North is currently looking for a Controller to become an integral part of the team.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Managing the finance team involves overseeing recruitment, professional growth, fostering a positive workplace, and performance management.
- Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements including summarizing of financial data and trends and variance analysis.
- Development and implementation of policy or process ensuring operational and financial controls consistent with industry best practices.
- Maintaining and managing the controls around all financial transactions and reporting, minimizing fraudulent and completeness risks.
- Prepare and coordinate the annual budget process by collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data with input from management team and department leads.
- Coordinate and execute the annual year-end review, including preparing working papers and supporting documentation.
- Develop and implement improvements to inventory control procedures and provide oversight over the inventory counts.
- Ensure the organization is compliant with all current federal, provincial, and municipal remittance and tax reporting requirements.
- Maintenance and upgrading of IT systems to ensure new accounts and other items are regularly included in the system, maintenance, and update of financial reporting systems to ensure it meets current reporting requirements.
- Provide management with pertinent financial data for decision-making, performance monitoring, financial analyses, and cash projections.
- Maintain professional and effective working relations with the senior leadership team, the management team, and all departments.

**Qualification/Experience**:

- Completed CPA professional accounting designation, or significant progress towards achieving a CPA designation.
- Minimum five years’ experience in accounting/finance
- Experience with all facets of full-cycle accounting (accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, fixed assets, financial reporting, and analysis.)
- Able to design, implement and document internal controls, policies, and processes.
- Strategic critical thinker with proven ability to lead a team.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral).
- Ability to work collaboratively with divergent operational groups.
- Exceptional time-management and organizational skills, ability to work independently deliver to a variety of commitments and deadlines despite altering time frames and schedules.
- Demonstrated initiative in identifying and implementing new or innovative methods.

**Additional Requirements**:

- Working remotely is not an option.

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
