**Position overview**

The District Manager will report directly to the CEO. Will play a lead role in overseeing the day to operations of the existing SimplySmart childcare centers, along with overseeing new franchise locations. Liaise with the Site Director to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals. The District Manager position is to support multiple Childcare and Montessori locations to enable them to achieve SimplySmart goals. SimplySmart strives to provide best in class childcare services to parents for their children. The role of the District manager is to ensure that SimplySmart objectives & values are met across all our locations. The District manager also needs to be able to create community engagement and ensure the program, care, communication, and quality is flawless across the centres. They will be responsible for ensuring that the centres in their portfolio are following all regulations and continuing to increase in enrollment. The District Manager will serve as a company representative in all areas both at work and at events. Significantly contribute to the success of the business by using creativity, innovation, and energy to improve processes while using available resources.

**Responsibilities**
- Represent SimplySmart in the community with the teachers and parents
- Ensure all centres are meeting guidelines set out by Public Health, Ministry of Education and the corresponding regions.
- Ensure a calm and beautiful learning environment is maintained in the centres
- Ensure the program plan is created and delivered as per the standard guidelines for SimplySmart
- Work with the external contacts that are supporting the centre. (Resource Consultants, ABA therapists, etc.)
- Assist the centres with Ministry visits to support them through the inspection.
- Complete monthly site audits on the centres in their portfolio.
- Spend time with the Site Director going over plans for growth and enrolment.
- Ensure the sites are managing tours and parent enquiries as per our guidelines
- Assist with programming needs of the classroom and training.
- Attend bi-monthly staff meetings at each location.
- Provide weekly updates to senior management and ensure daily staffing and children numbers are managed with optimal efficiency.
- Visit each centre on a weekly basis or more frequently if a centre needs additional support.
- Complete a weekly update that highlights the centres based on the weekly update template.
- Spend time in the classrooms to role model appropriate behaviours.
- Be the point of contact for families if there are issues that cannot be resolved by the Site Director.
- Assist Site Director with progressive discipline. (ex. Verbal warnings, written warning, PIP’s)
- **Launch new sites with the President/CEO including setting up rooms with the new Site Director**:

- Be able to conduct quarterly training sessions with teachers
- Be able to train new Supervisors/Site Directors on their role from start to finish.
- Generate new ideas to create and maintain a fun and innovative learning environment for teachers.

**Qualifications**
- Degree in Bachelor of Education or Ontario Diploma in Early childhood education **or equivalency.**:

- Early childhood Administration & Supervisor program an asset.
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience
- At least 5 years of Site Director experience at a large centre
- Experience working in a multi-site environment an asset
- In depth knowledge of CCEYA and other Ministry of Education and health standards
- All the requirements for Site Director position required by Ministry of Education and CCEYA
- Excellent and advanced communication and inter-personal skills and proficiency in Microsoft office and standard software.

**Ability to travel between locations** to do their role
- Professional maturity to drive solutions and lead by example
- Excellent organization skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- First aid and CPR

**Requirements**:

- Commitment to SimplySmart
- Ability to manage a large staff of teachers, support staff, and others employed at the center.
- Good leadership qualities & great interpersonal skills
- Warm personality & ability to express empathy and compassion and yet hold accountability standards
- Ability to serve on various committees and boards as required
- Ability and willingness to attend events, seminars, meetings as required.
- Support and participation in fundraising events and all other events
- Ability to manage relationships with parents or teachers or franchisees if required in accordance with the policies of SimplySmart

Pay: $68,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
