Our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking e-commerce company, is seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join their team. As the CTO, you will play a critical role in driving the development of cutting-edge e-commerce solutions. You will be responsible for evaluating and leveraging a wide range of technologies, mentoring the development team, and ensuring the highest standards of code quality throughout the Software Development Lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

- Evaluate and utilize a broad spectrum of technologies to enhance the e-commerce platform.
- Lead the development of custom software solutions using C#, JavaScript, SQL, and other relevant languages.
- Guide and mentor the development team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Leverage your professional network to facilitate project success and resource acquisition.
- Ensure effective use of a Git-Flow environment and maintain pipelines for rapid software deployments.
- Diagnose issues and implement monitoring using centralized logging/monitoring technologies like Azure App Insights, ElasticStack (Kibana), DataDog, New Relic, or SumoLogic.

Experience Required:

- Extensive experience with C# and.NET Core/.NET 5+.
- Proficiency with SQL Server/Azure SQL, including database schema migrations using EFCore or a script-runner like DbUp, Roundhouse, or Redgate SQL Change Automation.
- Experience with AWS services and Azure AppService; familiarity with Docker for executing code in the cloud.
- Ability to identify and integrate NuGet packages and cloud platform features to meet project requirements.
- Expertise in maintaining CI/CD pipelines for rapid software deployments.
- Proficiency in centralized logging/monitoring technologies like Azure App Insights, ElasticStack (Kibana), DataDog, New Relic, or SumoLogic.

Desirable Skills:

- Experience building and maintaining distributed systems with a message-based architecture (e.g., NServiceBus, MassTransit).
- Experience with Blazor and other SPA frameworks.
- Experience with Xamarin (soon to be Maui).
- Experience with Docker Compose for building clone-and-go local development environments.

Location: British Columbia, Canada (hybrid)

Compensation: $177,000 - $205,000 depending on experience plus dental care, paid vacation and flex days
