**Marketing Statement**: Metro Vancouver Transit Police ("Transit Police") is the leader in regional public transit policing, operating across 22 communities. It provides policing services to all modes of transit: Bus, SeaBus, SkyTrain, and West Coast Express. It also seeks to have a workforce that is responsive to and reflective of the many diverse communities is serves. **Responsibilities**: JOB SUMMARY: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Digital Evidence Collection & Processing: - Maintain continuity and integrity of all digital evidence and exhibits in accordance with legal standards. - Coordinate with forensic, patrol, and specialty investigators to secure recording systems and evidence. - Attend crime scenes or related locations to recover digital multimedia evidence. - Provide on-site investigative support by identifying, preserving, and extracting digital multimedia evidence. Video & Audio Analysis: - Conduct forensic analysis, enhancement, and clarification of digital multimedia evidence. - Perform detailed review and comparative analysis of video/audio content for investigative leads or identification purposes. - Create visual court exhibits (e.g., timelines, still images, annotated footage). - Prepare comprehensive forensic reports and documentation to support findings. - Collaborate with other forensic units, external agencies, and industry experts to ensure high standards of practice. **Qualifications**: **Education**: University degree or diploma in video technology, digital imaging, multimedia forensics, or a related field. OR Successful completion of Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) Certification Program with current certification as a Certified Forensic Video Technician or Certified Forensic Video Analyst. **Experience**: - Minimum of three (3) years of advanced forensic video processing in a law enforcement setting. - Demonstrated proficiency with forensic multimedia processing software including: Axon Investigate or Amped FIVE. - Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe products: Audition, Bridge, Photoshop, Premiere. - Hands-on experience with image processing software and non-linear video editing tools. - Use of various surveillance cameras, scanners, and retrieval systems. - Knowledge of proprietary surveillance systems, digital media retrieval methods, and regional geography as it pertains to investigations. Core Competencies and Skills: - Strong knowledge of forensic video/audio conversion and enhancement techniques - Exceptional attention to detail, judgment, and problem-solving ability - Effective oral and written communication skills; capable of translating complex findings for courtroom presentation - Demonstrated ability to work diplomatically and confidentially across all levels of the organization - Ability to remain composed while working with graphic and distressing material - Sound time management, prioritization, and organizational skills - Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-pressure environment. - This role requires the completion of meticulous and detail-oriented tasks on a daily basis. - The successful applicant must be technology-oriented and be proficient in embracing new technological programs. **Other Information**: Working Conditions: - Exposure to graphic imagery, violence, and traumatic material is common. - On-call or after-hours work may be required for urgent investigations. - Must be able to travel locally to crime scenes or courts as necessary. - Expected to maintain expert witness qualifications through ongoing professional development and certification. **Work Schedule**: 37.5 hours per week. - On-call or after-hours work may be required for urgent investigations. - Must be able to travel locally to crime scenes or courts as necessary. **Rate of Pay**: Salary Group 10: $7,556 to $9,062 per month. The Total Compensation Package includes Extended Health, Dental, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan.
