**POSITION**:Personal Support Worker
**UNIT**: PSW Resource Team
**STATUS**:Regular Part Time
**WAGE**: $23.79/hour - $24.16/hour

:
The PSW’s within STEGH’s Resource Team will be trained to work between multiple units. Alternating between the Intensive Care Unit, Acute Medical Unit and Surgical Inpatient departments. The PSW will be working at their full scope of practice and will be responsible for performing basic patient care functions, assisting patients with activities of daily living and other duties assigned. The PSW will be responsible for documenting on unit specific documentation forms/systems, observing and reporting changes in patient conditions to appropriate team members and practicing infection control and safety measures in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures.

**HOURS**:
**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:

- Personal Support Worker Certificate from an approved and recognized post-secondary educational institution.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification required
- Minimum of one (1) year recent experience in Long Term Care or a Continuing Care environment
- Demonstrated excellent customer service, organizational and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to function both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team member in a fast paced demanding environment
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Demonstrated commitment to on-going learning and professional development
- Excellent attendance record in accordance with STEGH’s Attendance at Work Program
- Demonstrated acceptable performance record in alignment with STEGH's Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct
