**STATUS: Regular Part Time**

**SALARY: $29.30 - $29.71**

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and contributing to the overall health and well-being of our patients.

**WHAT YOU MUST HAVE**:

- Personal Support Worker Certificate from an accredited post-secondary educational institution
- Registered with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) (applicable as of December 1, 2024)
- Current BLS certification
- Problem solving, critical thinking, decision making, and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge and commitment to patient and staff safety
- Ability to adapt and work within a constantly changing environment
- Basic computer skills (Outlook, Cerner, etc.)
- Ability to meet the physical demands of essential duties of the position
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
- Excellent performance record aligned with STEGH values

**WHAT WE PREFER YOU TO HAVE**:

- One (1) year of recent experience as a Personal Support Worker in a hospital setting
- Crisis Intervention Training

**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**:
The PSW will be working at their full scope of practice and will be responsible for the following (but not limited to):

- Assisting patients with activities of daily living and other duties assigned
- Performing basic care functions
- Completing unit specific documentation forms
- Observing and reporting changes in patient conditions to appropriate team members
- Practicing infection control and safety measures in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures

Three levels of care are provided in our CCC unit that include:

- Activation / Restoration - with a functional goal of progression (i.e. exercise and recreational activities) to increase and strengthen independence. The average length of stay in this program is 56 to 72 days.
- Short Term Complex Medical Management - with a functional goal of stabilization and progressions (i.e. medically complex and specialized services) to help avoid further loss of function, increase activity tolerance, and progress. The average length of stay in this program is up to 90 days.
- Long-term Complex Medical Management - with a functional goal of maintenance (i.e. medically complex and specialized services over an extended period of time) to maintain/slow the rate of, or avoid, further loss of function.

HOURS:
Must be available for all tours applicable to the department in accordance with the availability and non-availability requirements outlined in the Collective Agreement
