**STATUS: Full Time**

**SALARY: $29.30 - $29.71**

The day-to-day activity of this 24 bed Surgical In-Patient Unit is ever changing This Unit is comprised of a combination of both medical and surgical beds. A multi-disciplinary team approach is used to deliver quality health care to our patients.

The PSW will be working at their full scope of practice and will be responsible for the following (but not limited to):

- Performing basic patient care functions
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living and other duties assigned.
- The PSW will be responsible for documenting on unit specific documentation forms
- Observing and reporting changes in patient conditions to appropriate team members
- Practicing infection control and safety measures in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures.

**HOURS**:
**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:

- Personal Support Worker Certificate from an accredited post-secondary educational institution.
- Current registration with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) is required.
- Preference will be given to those with at least one (1) year recent acute surgical experience within the past two (2) years
- Current BCLS certification
- Current Safe Management Training Certification preferred
- Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, decision making, and conflict resolution skills and able to work through conflicts and differences in a respectful manner.
- Demonstrated excellence in the highest level of communication skills and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to patient and staff safety.
- Ability to adapt and work within a constantly changing environment.
- Basic computer skills (Outlook, Cerner, etc.)
- Ability to meet the physical demands of essential duties of the position
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
