**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in Social / Human Studies such as Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Disability or Gender Studies, or related field
- Strong working knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontarians with Disabilities Act (ODA), Ontario Human Rights Code and all relevant related legislation
- Minimum two to three years related experience, preferably in a municipal setting
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills including interaction with Council, members of the public, staff, external community groups and associations, school boards and Committees
- Ability to work with a high degree of professionalism and mínimal supervision
- Exceptional customer service and time management skills
- Proficiency with MS Office including Microsoft Office and the ability to create and / or remediate communications (Microsoft Office documents) to be accessible
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
- Demonstrated safe work practices
- Valid Class G Driver’s License with provision to own vehicle and acceptable Driver’s Abstract
- Completed Police Records Check

- Experience researching grant opportunities and writing successful grant proposals

**Duties**:

- Coordinating corporate accessibility and inclusion efforts to ensure equity in carrying out the County’s mission, vision and strategic plan
- Assist with developing and implementing strategic actions and service improvements related to the County’s Multi-Year Accessibility and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Plans to address accessibility and inclusion needs of employees, residents and visitors
- Assist with identifying, removing, and preventing barriers and bias, and coordinating and delivering relevant training initiatives
- Assist with coordinating internal and external groups working on accessibility, equity and inclusion initiatives, including coordinating meetings, facilitating discussions, documenting project plans and report writing
- Assist with reporting on the County's compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act by working with staff to coordinate the implementation of accessibility standards for the corporation
- Assist with analyzing site plans to meet legislative compliance
- Partner with community organizations, municipal partners, and members of the public, and may be required to represent the County at various meetings and events
- Assist with the creation of facilitation plans, AODA compliance standards and project plans
- Attend at Accessibility Advisory Committee meetings, when required
- Be a resource for staff, community partners, customers / the public on issues of inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility and human rights legislation
- Receive and assist with the resolution of accessibility related complaints or concerns
- Assist with the planning and implementation of training, awareness sessions and events for internal and external audiences
- Other duties as assigned

**Annual Salary Range**: $65,101 - $76,167 (Job Grade 5) 35 hours per week
