Product Owner: Climate Alerts

**Job Overview**

The Climate Alerts product owner is responsible for **understanding**, **documenting**, **planning** and jointly **executing** on how we deliver alerts, services and intelligence products that help our users plan, respond and recover from climate related risks and disruptions.

This is a hybrid role that is part **product owner** and part **domain expert**.

Overall the Climate Product Owner will work closely with the larger Product and Alerts teams to gain a deeper understanding of our users and how they can best use samdesk to better respond to emerging climate threats - while helping us chart a course to deliver meaningful climate products.

**What your day could look like as a Climate Alerts Product Owner?**
- Join sales or customer success on calls to understand use cases and gain insights
- Secondary research on the impacts climate makes on different client segments
- Sit down for a hour or two to develop and maintain a well organized GANTT chart
- Plan out what the next month, quarter and year looks like for samdesk’s climate product
- Join Product Lead and other Product Owners on a weekly strategy meeting
- Communicate with engineers and other teams on deliverables based on your product plan
- Analyze the samdesk climate Alerts output to deeply understand the strengths and weaknesses of the product
- Analyze mixpanel and other product metrics tools to deeply understand how users are engaging with our climate Alerts

**Responsibilities & Duties**
- Define and own, in collaboration with product leadership, the climate related roadmap
- Create climate PRDs, specs and overall requirements based on talking to clients to understand their needs
- Measure the success of our climate Alerts
- Measure the success of climate engagement, customer satisfaction
- Own climate data source partnerships and relationships
- Speed and quality analysis and some data labeling

**Competencies & Likely Background Experience**
- Meteorologist
- Product Owner/Manager at climate related data company
- You’ve done similar things as described in the job description above
- Used to working with cross functional teams, great communication (written and verbal)

**Reports to**:Alerts Lead _(CEO Interim)_

**Location**: While our HQ is in Edmonton, AB, we are open to remote applicants throughout Canada.
