**Location**: Edmonton or Calgary

**Job overview**: The primary accountabilities of this role are to design, develop, and support the value proposition of designated product(s). The key deliverables are competitive and coherent products portfolios, clear product roadmaps, and comprehensive product business plans.

**Reports to**: Director of Marketing & Product Development

**Hours of work**: Generally, BGE’s office hours are from 8:00AM - 4:30 PM however working outside of regular hours may be required as business opportunities arise.

**Tasks, duties and responsibilities**:

- Value design: design new offerings and integrate them into a robust portfolio of solutions.

**o. Value Proposition**: understand customers’ problems and design products that leverage BGE unique abilities to create and deliver value.

**p. Product Portfolio**: integrate products into a coherent portfolio of products focused on the market. Strategically manage the portfolio to align with different customer’s needs and market segments while minimizing redundancy and maximizing value.
- Value evolution: drive product innovation and translate resultant improvements into roadmaps.

**q. Innovation**: lead technical and commercial product innovation projects internally and externally with collaboration partners and suppliers.

**r. Roadmap**: build and manage key milestones and timelines for product improvements.
- Business plan: outline the different components needed for value delivery for the different market segments.

**s. Buy, build or partner**: determine the most effective way to deliver a complete solution to an identified market problem. Identify channel gaps and analyze whether to buy, build or partner to complete the solution for the market. Manage relationships with suppliers and channel partners in support of BGE solutions.

**t. Pricing & Profitability**: establish a pricing model, schedules, guidelines and procedures. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to determine how well the product is performing in the market, how it impacts the company operations, and ultimately, how it contributes to profit.

**u. Internal education**: provide technical and commercial guidance supporting the various internal stakeholders involved in the value-delivery, such as the product owner(s), communication content management, operations, etc.

**Physical requirements**:

- Standing; walking; bending; occasional exposure to dusty environments and extreme temperatures, heights, noise and heavy lifting up to 23kg (50lbs).

**Knowledge, skills, abilities and other competencies**:

- Be someone with deep technical knowledge and solid product strategy acumen.
- Be someone with interest in both the commercial and technical aspects of products and services.
- Must be able to pass Pre-Employment/Pre-Access Drug & Alcohol Tests.
- Be highly self-motivated and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical product development and support roles preferably in HVAC-related field.
- Be engaging. You have a proven ability to develop successful, strategic, working relationships.

**Other requirements**:

- Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and provincial driver’s abstract
- Ability to travel on a regular basis (mostly within Canada, occasionally USA)
