**Job Overview**:
As a Technical Services Manager at CHSLD Bayview, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall maintenance and functionality of the facility while also assisting with various administrative tasks. This position requires a combination of practical maintenance skills and organizational abilities to contribute to the smooth operation of the CHSLD. The Technical Services Manager reports to the Director of Auxiliary Services for ongoing matters and to the Executive Director for financial matters.

**Responsibilities**:
**1.** **Maintenance Duties**:

- Conduct routine inspections of the CHSLD's facilities to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
- Perform general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, painting, and carpentry.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the longevity and efficiency of equipment.
- Respond to maintenance requests from different departments and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors when necessary.

**2.** **Administrative Tasks**:

- Assist in maintaining accurate records related to maintenance activities, including inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate scheduling for maintenance activities to minimize disruption to resident care and daily operations.
- Provide support in the procurement process by researching and obtaining quotes for maintenance-related supplies and services.
- Assist in maintaining a filing system for maintenance documentation and contracts.
- Respects financial limitations on spending

**3.** **Communication and Coordination**:

- Communicate effectively with other departments regarding maintenance needs and schedules.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure seamless integration of maintenance and administrative activities.

**4. Safety and Compliance**:

- Adhere to standards and regulations established by governmental bodies or organizations, such as, but not limited to MSSS, Accreditation Canada, CNESST, MAPAQ, AEPC, etc.
- Collaborate with the safety officer to address any safety concerns related to maintenance tasks.

**5. Specific Duties**:

- Regularly inspect and repair equipment and facilities.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and related administrative tasks.
- Assist in the procurement of supplies and equipment for maintenance purposes.
- Collaborate with the administrative team for effective communication and coordination.
- Gives training sessions on emergency response plan.
- Conducts routine emergency drills.
- Deals with government agencies regarding inspections.
- Trains nursing staff in the use of certain machinery required by residents.
- Receives and stores new supplies.
- Removes snow and salts walkways in the winter.

**6. Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in maintenance and basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with different departments.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French
