**We are looking for a compassionate, caring Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) with a passion for the elderly to join our team at one of our beautiful Long-Term Care Facilities.**

**Facility Address**:Sunridge Place, 361 Bundock Avenue, Duncan, BC

**Details**: Permanent Full time. 0800-1600. Monday-Friday.

**Compensation**:$27.07 per hour

**Responsibilities**:

- Assists residents with established rehabilitative activities such as mobility, strengthening, balance and range of motion exercises, walking programs and activities of daily living as directed.
- Demonstrates to residents and assists in the use of exercise equipment such as pulley system, parallel bars, passive trainers and other therapeutic aids/ equipment.
- Assists residents in dressing and toilet needs as required in preparation for and following rehabilitative activity; assists with resident lifting / transfers and positioning as directed.
- Reports observations of resident’s progress and responses to treatment program to
- Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist. Communicates concerns and / changes to resident’s condition.
- Porters patients to and from the Physical Therapy area utilizing mechanical aids such as wheelchairs and walkers.
- Sets up and organizes furnishing and equipment for related activities as directed; cleans and maintains equipment and reports malfunctioning equipment to the Physiotherapist.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.

**Qualifications**:

- **Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant** or related Program plus one years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work as a team member and to work effectively with others.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
