As the
**Research Associate**, you will have the opportunity to add capacity and expertise in the areas of physician evaluation and competency enhancement. You will participate in developing internal data collection processes to guide continuous process improvement, research initiatives and program evaluation, as well as developing key evaluation questions to measure outcome strategies. You will support the Senior Medical Advisor/Principal Investigator and Program Manager administratively and work as a team member with other Senior Medical Advisors, Directors, and Program Managers from the various competence programs to ensure that physicians remain competent throughout their careers.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- ** Contribute to the planning and analysis of research and evaluation projects that build evidence of best practices regarding medical regulation**:
- Utilize study design principles to create research/evaluation plans that are suitable to answer the research and evaluation questions and introduce limited bias.
- Liaise with program teams to ensure the plan is pragmatic and implemented in a manner that results in as little bias as possible.
- Perform analysis of quantitative and/or qualitative data.
- **
Knowledge transition**:
- Interpret, document, synthesize, and present/communicate analytical results.
- Present findings to a variety of audiences.
- **
Contribute to the development of research surveys and questionnaires**:
- Develop and maintain research databases and utilize software to clean, create, maintain and link research and program database.
- Manipulate data to facilitate analysis.
- Participate in streamlining data collection processes by making recommendations.
- **
Other responsibilities may include**:
- Conduct literature searches, reviews and database searches for various topics.
- Contribute to program development to ensure CPSA competence programs meet an established standard of quality.
- Provide administrative support for senior research team members including scheduling, meeting management, conference registration, etc.
- Act as a point of contact for external collaborators and work collaboratively to facilitate analysis and interpret results.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**:
- Master's degree in public health, health sciences, statistics, epidemiology or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
**Experience**:
- Five years' relevant research and/or administrative experience.
**Skills**:
- Experience with primary data collection and secondary data analysis for research and evaluation purposes.
- Knowledge and experience with quantitative, qualitative and/or mixed methods research.
- Strong written and oral skills for the use in development of oral presentations, summaries, and reports.
- Requires a sound knowledge of CPSA policies and practices.
**SALARY**
The starting salary range for this position is between $68,577 to $75,435, is dependent upon education and experience, and includes a comprehensive benefit package and pension plan.
