**About the Role**:
The Recreation Assistant will be aligned with our Women's Services Wellness Program.
- Assisting in developing and facilitating both therapeutic and recreational programming for cis women, trans and non-binary individuals
- Assisting with programming for individuals who have children and have experienced violence/abuse
- Individualized wellness assessments
- Goal planning
- Participating in programming
- Assisting clients as needed to foster health and wellness

**What We Look For**
- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must provide a valid current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Excellent communication, team-building, negotiating and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of issues related to gender -based violence
- Holistic health and wellness models
- Work from a feminist ARAO framework
- Experience in program development, and group facilitation an asset
- CPR certification is an assett
- Fluency in French and/or a language in addition to English is an asset
- Meet all of the guidelines set out by the Government for the Canadian Summer Jobs Program
