Position Overview
The switchboard operator is responsible for courteous and effective telephone, paging and inquiry services for the hospital.
Experience
At least one-year previous experience as a telephone operator or one-year receptionist experience essential, preferably in a health care setting.
Experience in windows environment essential.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Grade 12 education.
Medical Terminology certificate preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration

Qualifications and Skills
Accurate typing 40 words per minute.
Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written.
Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize workload, work independently and made effective decisions.
