Come and be a part of this success- **About Potash**- The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.

Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for mid-2027. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. ** Work Location**- This role will be based out of BHP's corporate office located in Saskatoon but will be regularly scheduled to work at the Jansen Potash site. The associated work schedule will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a relocation allowance.

**
About the Role**- In this role, you will:

- Support field staff with onsite monitoring and requirements
- Manage and improve environmental related controls/processes/practices in the field to facilitate environmental compliance and sustainability of Project activities
- Provide as an accountable connection for cross-functions stakeholders to obtain environmental approvals
- Determine underlying cause of problems and evaluate multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems
- Identify, assess and manage Project environmental and compliance risks, to make informed decisions using BHP’s risk management framework
- Develop strategies for managing and mitigating environmental risks
- Play key role in building an environmentally aware culture
- Create, maintain and/or review environmental management plans, procedures, working instruction and compliance documents and contribute a high degree of technical knowledge to the documentation and onboarding of them to customers
- Liaise with frontline leaders, on-site Project team and Contracting Partners to achieve compliance with regulatory and BHP environmental management system requirements
- Coach contractors about project specific environmental standards and aid in the development of solutions to meet those requirements.
- Acquire and report accurate and transparent environment data.
- Assist in the day-to-day planning, coordinating and execution of environmental and permitting activities and ensure deliverables meet BHP objectives.-
- **About You**- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in environmental science or engineering; with a background in mining or other resource industry preferred
- Previous experience in environmental management, regulatory compliance, environmental evaluation or related roles (preferably for a resource industry)
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and improving environmental controls, processes and practices.
- Experience working leading a team and supporting peers to effectively deliver against objectives.
- Demonstrated experience in executing technical environmental related work activities.
- Demonstrated capability to collaborate and influence internal and external stakeholders, including working closely with Corporate Affairs and regulatory bodies.
- Experience in a construction or operational environment.
- Solid understanding of Canadian and Saskatchewan environmental legislation.
- Experience with data management software (i.e., EnviroSys) is an asset.-
