**Human Resources Coordinator (Hybrid work arrangement available)**
**Job Description**:
**What you will do**:
- Support the payroll administration process by maintaining employee records in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and liaising with finance on payroll-related activities
- Benefits and pension administration including updating benefit rates, responding to employee benefit and pension questions and liaising with the employee group benefits and pension carriers to resolve employee issues.
- Assist with new employee onboarding.
- Assist employees with answering HR-related inquiries including preparing employment letters and responding to questions regarding HR programs and policies.
- Provide project support to the Human Resources department, as required. This will include managing coordination of other annual recognition initiatives and support for employee engagement initiatives, events and organizational initiatives.
- Support key HR programs including the employee education program, corporate employee sponsorship, employee recognition program for years of service, dependent life sponsorship, active living and employee life events.
- Provide administrative support to committees chaired by Human Resources. This includes scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, tracking committee expenses, facilitating committee member recruitment and participating in committee events.
- Provide administrative support to the Human Resources team.
**Qualifications**:
**What you will bring**:
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)/Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) or in progress is an asset.
- 1-2 years’ work experience in a similar role.
- Exceptional customer service approach.
- Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
- Ability to work well independently, under time pressure with frequent time deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong desire to continuously improve and help others improve.
- Must be dependable, pro-active and flexible.
- You’re highly flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
- You’re highly organized, self-motivated, customer oriented and able to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment, and with internal business partners at all levels of the organization.
- Experience working with relevant legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, the Human Rights Code, the Employment Equity Act, the Pay Equity Act, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
